Being in Jesus' Arms

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you a rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Mathew 11:29-30

I like to be alone with Jesus. Especially when I'm sad. Sometimes I go to the park and sit under a tree. I open my arms and he picks me up in his arms and holds me.

I imagine Jesus and myself sitting together talking. He cradles me in his eternal arms. I can feel his breath on my face as he tells me, "Everything will be okay, my son". His hand reaches for my face to wipe away a tear.

In the book of Mathew, Jesus says: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest". (11:29)

I take Jesus at his word. I run to him when I'm sad or lonely. His arms are the only place I want to be.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, Thank you for taking me up in your arms and holding me when I'm sad. In your name, Amen.

Thought: Throw yourself into the arms of Jesus!

Prayer Focus: People who need comfort.
